Looks like you got fixed up. Cool thing about merino is that it naturally combats odor. I have many different brands kuiu tops and first lite bottoms are my favorite (patigonia cape line is the best but I refuse to support their anti hunting company) I have several pairs of firstlite’s merino boxers as well. https://www.firstlite.com

I wear thermals almost always during the fall winter have various weights to adjust to the outside temperature. Haven’t worn a pair of insulated bibs in years since I made the switch even in sub zero weather. I stay warmer with merino than I do with any of the synthetics I’ve tried and I’ve tried about all I can find. And on backpack hunting trips synthetic materials stink after a few days. Merino will stink after 8 days in the backcountry but not near as bad as any synthetic after only 3 days.

HA!HA! Thanks for the laughs. I looked at Ricks links and then saw the 100% merino wool in the side links and clicked on them.
Holy Crap! $200 for a hoody?
Looked at the weather forecast today. -12 or so in the mornings and up to 30 during the day at the lower elevations of 8500'.
Layers will be the key with lots of snow in the high country that should drive the elk down to us not having to go up after them.
I'm a deer hunting addict, but this hunt overpowers any deer hunt hands down.

Life was better when you could hunt from the truck.

Ok, I’ve done some research. The base layer is designed to wick the sweat away from the body without allowing it back in. I’m guessing it’s something like goretex you don’t hear much about anymore.

I’ll know how well it works shortly.
