And the SCOTUS has never gotten anything wrong right? How many rulings have they allowed to stand that trample on our 2A? If you use speech to incite fear, panic or to knowingly cause emotional distress, that is a terroristic behavior and SHOULD be illegal. And more to the point that type of behavior does not belong in society. The founders put the 1A to protect citizens free speech against a tyrannical government. Had they known how it would be interrupted later on I'm pretty sure they would have reworded it. It goes back to the saying "The freedom of me to swing my fist ends right before it hits your nose". In other words our rights exist until they are used to cause harm to another.

So you are ok with people prank calling 911, or swatting other people? This useless bundle of flesh took it upon himself to cause the police to come out with the simple goal of causing a scene. Why? To advocate the 2A? No. He did it for attention, pure and simple. Those that are advocates for the 2A do so in a manner that is constructive and does NOT induce fear into the public. The AR already has enough people against it, do you think causing people to see it and fear it is a good way to win over those who haven't formed an opinion yet?

I will say my comparing them to WBC was a stretch, I wasn't fully awake when I typed that. However, to draw this to a close, these people (and I use the term loosely) are nothing but attention seekers. They don't care about the 2A. To them its just a way to get the attention they think they deserve. If they were serious about getting the public used to seeing these AR pistols they would do so in a way that doesn't cause fear. Right now the 2A is in a PR battle. The left are telling the populace that these guns are scary and violent. Most of us are trying to fight that PR with facts but yahoos like this go out and provide the fodder for more lefties to push for bans. The SCOTUS has already ruled several times that certain restrictions on the 2A are allowed even with the constitution plainly states "shall not be infringed". They even allowed the first AW ban to go through. These yahoos are paving the road to another ban, they are even using top grade asphalt to make sure the road is nice and smooth.

I don't know why you're still arguing with that clown.
That's either Richard Hubbard, or a friend of his, so trying to educate him about what was done was a very stupid thing and hurts gun rights more than it helps it, is just pissing in the wind.

Who’s Richard Hubbard?

Seriously though, I may not know Hubbard, but I did happen to have a conversation with a friend of his on Tuesday who said it would be out of character for him to unlawfully point a gun. Take it for what you will. What I can say for sure is that more and more often I’ve seen people suggest “SWATing” OCers (falsely reporting that they’re pointing or even shooting to get them shot or arrested) on social media, comments sections on news articles, etc., and that’s among several reasons I seldom OC anymore.

Either way, what that asshat did, only hurts gun rights and makes everyone else in the gun community look bad.
You don't OC yourself anymore because of the damage these idiots have done.

You keep telling me this as if I think he and Tim Harper are some sort of 2A gods or what they did is model behavior. I never understand when people get bothered that someone else doesn’t express the same degree of outrage as them over an issue. There are more than enough people here screaming “asshat” without me jumping on that bandwagon. I’m content to be the guy injecting some nuance into a conversation. Every moral panic needs that, even though it never sways the mob. There’s more than one side to everything.

I made that decision before these events occurred, and as I said, there were other reasons, but it’s true that what they did didn’t make the OC SWATing situation any better. Ultimately though, the fault for that lies with the people threatening to make false reports to police.

It'd sure be a good time for Hubbards phone video of the altercation/arrest to show up. Blake mentioned a few posts back something about if the video doesn't show up it'll look suspicious. I disagree with the auditing thing but I also disagree with a law abiding "auditor" being arrested. If some video doesn't show up soon, I'm gonna have to side with Hubbard from a legal point of view and I may just have to ease over to the park to support his rights. Not his auditing but his rights.

I don't disagree with you on this. There is an unsubstantiated report from one woman saying he was pointing his gun. Was he shifting it in the sling or what? There are way too many unanswered questions and LEO have been known to justify their actions with false reporting. Well documented on this forum.

Looks like scoping prisons out is his thing too. Another one of those deals where just cuz you can, doesn't mean you should. In my opinion. This was 2 weeks ago.

I was just wondering about this guy the other day. I meant to update this thread to see if anyone had seen anything new on him. I can't find anything about his arrest. You would think his day in court should be soon.
