I have a similar request to RickN. I screwed up my knee and like Rick cannot get up on the roof to replace two whirlygig type vents. I have done this job before myself and all I did was replace the top part that spins leaving the bottom part adhered to the roof. I just drilled out the rivets and used a pop rivet tool to replace the rivets.

If we cannot get that scenario to work we can go back to remove / replace, caulk, seal, rinse and repeat.

I will supply the vents and tools if you don't have any. Due to my past jobs I'm a mobile tool box. I am not asking for a freebie and will pay for the time involved including your drive time. I live in NW OKC by Hefner Lake

Please PM me

Those are severely outdated. You just need a ridge cap vent.

My buddy showed up today and fixed ours, or at least where I am 99% sure the leak was. I asked him about replacing your turbines but he said he normally does not handle repairs like this. He builds houses and does major remodels. Only did ours as a favor since he was going to be in the area.

More good news, our other friend is bringing us the LED TV today. Means we do not have to mess with that tomorrow. Yea!

Just replace them with box vents and you won't have to change them out till you need a new roof. No moving parts to wear out

These are not outdated. They don't need to be replaced by box vents or vented ridge cap. They'll move more air then either of those two suggested replacements.

Ya need to know box vent to soffit vent ratio, has to be right for draw to work. If it has whirlybirds stick with em until you get a new roof and then address switching. If you get the set up wrong it will cook your shingles and cause the shingles to get brittle and start curling.
Whirly birds actually pull air so you don't need as many.

That's what I thought. Was also lookin at solar powered fans but not practical in hail prone Oklahoma. When I get a new roof I'll go with these and some more whirlys.
