I have to say, I'm a bit shocked hearing about this, but not surprised. My daughter called me yesterday and said for her philosophy class, they are being required to write a 5 page essay on why guns are bad and that only police and military should be allowed to have them. She also mentioned they needed to discuss how the 2nd amendment is outdated and needs to be outright removed from the constitution or significantly changed. My daughter, while not fond of guns does understand a civilians right to have them and believes in the 2nd amendment. I think that in the coming years (maybe 15-20) that this country will be disarmed and plunged into socialism once this young generation gets into political power. You can all laugh and think it's not going to happen, but just look at what these kids believe in and what they want to accomplish. We gun owners are severely outnumbered by the anti-gunners and this young generation who are determined to change it.

I'm not looking to start a war of words, but this is what is being taught to our young people... so sad.

I just worry about the mind set of they very young suburban taught brainwashing going on in the schools, and universities. Kids are not anything about hunting or sport shooting, it’s all guns are bad so you are bad for wanting to uphold your rights. The left is teaching them you and they are eating up this brainwashing.

I worry more about unsubstantiated claims that this is being “taught” in school. To be fair, debate classes teach you to discuss a point you may not agree with. A lot of uproar these days tends to be fabricated on both sides.

I read a while back (can't remember where) that the newest generation is coming up more centered then leftist, a counter steer if you would. Also with the heavy influence of video games (yes here is a nod to call of duty) that as the next generation gets of age they will want to own said firearms that the enjoy represented I video games. I just hope by the time it happens that 1. The firearms will still be available, and 2. There is a heathly respect for safety of the guns that they use in games.

As stated above the liberal leftist control every aspect of teaching, from the School Board all the way down the teaching level, gun control and confiscation is how their plan comes to fruition. Liberals in Washington all the way to Hollyweird, yearn for the day they can control every aspect of your existence. We can all name the names of the of the leaders of genocide heaped upon the soles of the dead in their quest for total obedience. That is my fear, is that the now children playing with dolls and cars will never be taught of the past massacres in the name of loyalty to dear leader. It’s happened before, right.

I agree with the subject in a debate class, but Junkyard dogs example is a philosophy class. Our kids are being indoctrinated in junk climate science and taught to hate guns in their formative years that will carry on with them throughout their lives.
We have more than one family friends that are 2A and gun friendly. Their kids in middle and high school love Bernie and pocahontas becaise that is what they are taught in school.
If it's ok to require students to take the opposite side in a debate class against the 2A, then shouldn't the student body be required to take a pro 2A class so they can form an honest debate?
