We got golf ball sized hail at midnight and then again at 1:30 this morning.10 days ago we got a little bigger than golf ball sized hail and several different roofing companies from OKC and Norman have already been to about every ones house on the block. The 2 new chevy trucks that got pelted 10 days ago got another round this morning.

Generally I have seen aluminum smooth out quicker and better than steel with my experiences with airplanes getting hailed on. A few hot summer days in the sunshine will do wonders.

The aluminum used in autos is actually fairly thick, so it's actually harder to dent than the steel with the same size hail. But aluminum has less elasticity and memory than auto steel (not HSS), and is more difficult to get back into place. Just ask about anyone who works on 'em with PDR (being in auto claims, this is a regular deal for me). It's not impossible (see this dude for example) but it definitively takes more massaging, heat, time and precision for the PDR technician to get it done.

My car got a lot of small dents from hail damage. I am sure my truck did too but i am not worried about a dent in the truck. The car however is different, it annoys me to see so many dents in the hood. Not even going to think about having repairs done until mid summer at the earliest. I've been through much bigger hail storms in the past with no vehicle damage, no luck this time.
