dan,what size did you have. i've shot the commander size and its darn loud behind it. plugs didn't work,had to go to full muffs outdoors.

mine was the 5" gi model. did a light fluff&buff as recommended on the ria forum, and it ran like a dream.man i miss that gun.......

Good choice on the 4500 series of 3rd gen S&W. You'll notice how rapid fire stays on target better vs the 1911. Trigger not as sweet but you get a double action and the decocker. Tough, reliable, they'll feed anything.

Look around for the P220, you can still find them for under 5 bills. Once you take one out to the range, you may never want any other .45ACP.

I found that same gun a couple years ago also, think I paid $385 out the door. He is write, once you shoot one, they are hard to let go. Summitgunbroker.com might have one stashed back in a safe if you ask him. He obviously has newer onces, but as for one of the old german guns. Mine is marked 1994 if memory serves. Only recently got the slide duracoated HK black. Looks good either way. And it never fails.

No kiddin?!? I have their catalog about 10 ft away from me at the moment but my daughter fell asleep on my arm as I sit here and surf gun porn. Kinda stuck here for a bit. $389 ain't bad depending on what their shipping runs. I've been watching them on GB and it should be easy to get one for at or under $400 delivered.

I should have a Smith 5906 here in a couple of days too on a trade deal...
