5.56 bolt gun

Hey all,

I'm wanting to reduce the # of calibers I stock and was curious if you've ever heard of a 5.56 bolt gun?

To clarify, I'm under the impression I can fire 223 out of a 5.56 but not the reverse.

I'm open to correction and suggestion, thanks!

A couple guys say they have seen both Browning A bolts and Savages in 5.56.

There's quite a few Winchester Model 70s around in .223. I've got a Browning A-Bolt in .223.

If you wanted a 5.56 bolt gun, you could find someone with a 5.56 reamer and give it about 2 turns.

Other than that, I wouldn't really feel uncomfortable shooting 5.56 out of a .223 bolt gun. I've never seen one with a fast factory barrel twist, so there's no point in shooting nuclear 75gr loads anyway.
