I would never in a million years had thought that the cheap android tv boxes that are marketed and sold on ebay, and other outlets, specifically for watching pirated movies and other content would be involved in fraud. I mean really, wow!

Beware, the chinese know your porn addictions.

If you have an “internet of things” device, be it a smart TV, Smart toaster, internet connected light bulb, smart alarm clock, video doorbell, etc, assume it is either compromised or soon will be. Statistically speaking, it likely will be, if it isn’t already. Many devices connected to your Wi-Fi could be used to gather information being sent through your Wi-Fi network, and send it off to someone waiting for it, be it an intelligence agency, or a criminal.

A nifty example is how fitness devices have compromised military operations around the world. While not mentioned here, I have read elsewhere that the Chinese Military has used fitness tracker info to not only put together military installation locations, but to also determine what people are doing and how we fight wars, based upon heart rates, distances traveled, etc.

Shh! We are supposed to enjoy our consumption of endless cheap tech gadgets so we don't pay attention to bigger problems!

My new LG TV has those options you have to agree to use. I do not and will not agree to them looking at my programs and advertisements so they can "tailor" my content for me. It is constantly nagging me about it too.
