Another Controversial Thread-Head Shots

Now on the 223 I highly recommend it for deer hunting with good bullets and shorter range it is very effective on deer size game, but bullet choice and shot placement is key.

We need to hear some bullet choices. I've killed several with my ar in the .243 WSSM, and am going to take out the new Rem R-15 starting on Friday. So far all I have is the factory .55 gr softpoints. What do you use? When I get enough brass built up, the reloader will take care of all future rounds.

Lung to gut: 12-16"
Neck to jaw: 2-3"
That's 400-500% margin, not worth it IMHO.

I process my own and I want to hear what meat do you loose with a lung shot?

Meat between 3 ribs?

I know dennis is speaking tounge and cheek and I have no doubt to his knowledge in such things but that is a very valid point. Lots of guys claim the low percentage head shot is a meat saver and I for one think the amount of meat saved might fill an egg roll.
