I believe their thinking is that most straight wall cartridges don’t send bullets flying much farther than the intended target, I think velocity is another thing too.

I’m sure you’re right. Those states finally allowing straight walled cartridges is progress to the guys I know that hunt there. Most of the guys I know in those states though are muzzleloader hunters and get better velocities and range out of their smoke poles than the straight walled cartridges.
It's not a straight walled cartridge though.
I honestly couldn’t remember. I had one years ago but didn’t use it much.
