Any idea what this rifles worth?

My friend go this in a trade and has no idea what its worth. Anyone into old mausers have and idea?

It looks like its been refinished by the previous owner, and my friend jeweled the bolt.

What caliber and model is it and what are the other markings?

Spanish Mauser 1895, probably in 7.57mm caliber. If in fact some one has refinished it the value will suffer. I'm not sure what it's worth though.

cant tell what the year says but from my research there are few models of spanish mausers this can help identify it:

m-93 mauser=flat bottom bolt face (upstide down horse shoe shape)
m-95 mauser=round bolt face

I am not sure but it appears that someone has shortened the barrel and that does not look like the origional front sight witch will decrease the value for a collector. You need to take the rifle appart and check all the parts for serial numbers. This can increase the value. Does it fire, and how well does she shoot.

Looks like cavalry carbine - but the front sight and bayonet lug are odd.
