I am new to the area in Moore and want some smaller ponds to bass fish not into the overfished lakes I've been to already I'd rather catch small fish consistently in a small pond thanks
The creek on sw19th street near tractor supply has a ton of fish including crappie.
We fished it before all those businesses went up but it still holds fish.
There was a Pond behind Plaza Towers we called Marcums pond in the 70-80's and 1/2 of it is
still there.
See if you can access it.
You can see it on google earth or maps.
During a good rain storm my buddy and I would dam up the concerted part of the creek by Plaza Towers with rocks and slowly let the water flow into the pond.
We always got fish and crawdads doing that.
But that creek went through another pond at one time.
Thank you so much for the in-depth reply! The way we found out as kids was to go fish them.
If we got ran off they were private.
There are a lot of ponds made in neighborhoods before the neighborhood is built .. pretty safe to say
those can probably be fished.
If you find buckshot or rocksalt hitting you chances are you were trespassing.
Best bet if you do not want to buy an OKC city fishing permit is to hit Thunderbird dam
you can walk and cary some worms and jigs and get all the sunfish and some bass and cats right off the rocks.
Not that far from Moore and you will not be on private property.
If you get a permit then hit Draper lake.
Believe it or not there are HUGE fish in it and millions of sunfish.
