Nice, Dennis. I'll bet this is an experience your grandson will not forget!
He is from Dallas, and pretty much a "city boy". He has never shown any interest in the outdoor life, even when taking him deer hunting years ago. I heard backdoor from his dad that he didn't like it, but he did take to the trapping thing, so I worked hard on him while he was up here for the Christmas and New Year holidays. We shot ar-15's, pistols, and so on. Yesterday, he asked if I still had the .22 Rossi that I gave him 5 years ago, that he had no interest in. Sure did, and thats the one in the pic. I dumped about 200 rounds in his pockets and we started walking the creek plinking and just enjoying the day. I hope a spark was put in him, and maybe he won't like hunting, but I do hope he takes up shooting. I have a dandy Rem 1100 in 20 ga that I'll try him out with the clay birds when it warms up a little and he gets back up this way.
