Typical lib dem reasons against taking/passing civics test????
1. Democratic senator David Bradley, "My point now is tests don't make citizens, citizens are tested by their actions."

2. Joe Thomas, high school government teacher, said he was concerned that having students take a 100-question test would take up an entire class period and will not be an effective way of getting students engaged in civics.

If civics means a basic set of information so that citizens understand the sources of authority (Federal and State Constitutions), how the mechanics of voting, petitioning, jury duty, and etc. work - then all this is good. Maybe should throw in the old School House Rock - "How a Bill Becomes a Law" video. I realize it is darn near impossible to discuss politics without to some extent stepping on someone's toes but this could still be good as long as it doesn't become an overt indoctrination session.

I hope that nobody gets the wrong idea as to how I feel about the civics test. I was writing the OP tongue in cheek(satirically). We truly need students to take a real a civics test based on US History, the US Constitution and NOT REVISIONIST BRAVO SIERRA PC AGENDA TYPE OF TESTS. Also the passing grade should not be 60%, it should be 70% or higher. The "dumbing-down" of American schools needs to stop immediately in all subject areas.
