Get a short piece of Picatinny rail, and secure the coiled cord to it, then move the switch back to the handgrip so it can be more easily activated. There may be occasions when you want it instantly off, and you only have one hand available to do that.

Having used them in the field in both urban and woods, I prefer to mount them on top to prevent accidental activation

Be tough to accidentally activate if it were mounted above the trigger on the receiver under the dust cover so it could be operated with a finger with the Velcro DHargrove spoke about.
