Great show. While rewatching the old seasons to get caught up to the recently-released first part of the fourth season, I saw something interesting.
There’s an episode where a clearly mentally disabled adult (pretty sure Down’s syndrome) uses his state ID to buy a rifle for a child. He even “accidentally” checks the box that he’s buying for someone else but the guy at the counter has him correct it. The kid gets the gun and goes to shoot it in the woods and it’s full auto. He pulls the trigger once and it almost bounces out of his hands shooting over and over.
While it’s obvious the producers went out of their way to scare those not familiar with firearms and their purchases, it does bring a question to mind. How do gun retailers deal with possibly mentally impaired buyers?
