Dennis - I know what you mean. A friend left my house Saturday night at halftime of the OU - MU game. His last words were "call me after you get outta church and lets get out in the afternoon." Apparently, he was carjacked / kidnapped along the way, forced into a bar and beer poured down his throat. In our brief conversation after my church he said in a somewhat hungover voice and tone that he was waiting for his family to get home from church and he'd call me back. This is not the first time he has been carjacked / kidnapped ... then he thinks his wife is unreasonable for expecting him to be accountable to her and the kids. Personally, I think he is doing reseach for a book "50 ways to get a divorce".

Opps, sorry for the rant. Addiction (gambling, alcohol, etc) is a terrible thing. I had another hunting buddy telling his wife that he was going to be going out hunting, she put up a mild disagreement, but he replied, "Would you rather I go to the strip club or casino all night?". Her argument stopped right then.

I realize that I am probably being nitpicky, but I get annoyed when my partners show up 5-10 minutes late. Is it really that hard to be on time??? Hell, get there 15 minutes early, enough time to unload your stuff in my truck and actually leave on time. Not show up 5 minutes late, have to dig through everything, realize you forgot something or lost it. My buddies hate me when we go to deer camp because I have them up at the buttcrack of dawn because it takes them forever to get moving, put their contacts in, etc. But if I don't, we are pulling out of camp as it is starting to get light and I am severely irritated. Be courteous to your fellow hunters. Don't be "that guy".

Don't have a clue about who this is in the closed thread, but I have/had a friend all the way from high school that has met this qualification.(he is not a member)
Over the years, it was one lie after another why he couldn't get up to go bird/deer hunting, but I still stuck by him. I kept putting the time to pick him up later and later until 10 am was stupid, when I wanted to leave at 6am.

Had a 45 mile drive to get to the field. Its my land, my hunt, and its was getting screwed up by him. Finally got tired of knocking on the door, only to be greeted by him just waking up.

Dammed casino rat....I hate those places.

Don't want to sound selfish in this thread, but when your a guest, and invited by a landowner to go on a hunt, wouldn't one want to accomadate their wishes?

Anyway my new hunting buddy doesn't have that problem.........

:bolt:

jk. I wish it was me. My coyote rifle is sighted in and is just bEGGING me to let it loose.

I've got a buddy that's late to EVERYTHING. His last name is Spivey, so whenever someone is late to anything, my dad and I always say "They must be on Spivey-Time." It's usually 2-3 hours to get him going anywhere. IF we ever make it to the woods, he then has about 15 minutes before his patience runs out entirely.
