I use the Harris BRM-S. Swivels with leg notches, 6-9 inches.IIRC. It's.great for prone or bench, any higher would not work.well for me. Gene Sears in El Reno has them at a fair price.

Look at this one It is a little higher than you wanted to spend, but it should work prone, unless you are a petite guy. Should work of most tables. It will work for you while sitting on the ground. The swiveling style is a must for uneven ground. With the swiveling model, you don't have to be precise when making leg adjustments. If a little uneven, you can tilt the gun left or right with the swiveling model to level the cross hair. The Harris bipods are worth the money.

I just ordered the 1A2-LM 6"-9" (without the swivel) from Midway for $75.
I am nothing like my brother...6'1" and 165 lbs so hopefully this will work.

Can I add a swivel later on?

As far as I know you can't. However, I see Harris has a few new items they didn't have a few years ago. Such as a swivel mount for a rail. However your wood stock doesn't have a rail.
