Can anyone here do cold black oxide coating or know of someone who can? I'm restoring an axe head that was originally black oxide coated and would like to return to it's original finish.
Is this a nickle or stainless based axe head?
Cast iron or steel can be parkerized but not black oxide coated if I am not mistaken.
Ferrous metals you can black oxide coat.
If you were here in Yukon/OKC I would take it to the camshaft shop and stick it in the parkerizer.

Forged steel. It can be black oxide coated.

Yes, thanks, I'm aware of Birchwood just trying to find someone locally who can do it for $20 or less.
Two Rivers does hot bluing. Might see what they would charge you.
Perhaps, I’m missing something, but I can’t imagine someone being able to do what your asking for <$20.
