Also as a side not if your anticipating and flinching your accuracy probably isn't so hot either. Your forcing the gun to go bang when you want it to go bang instead of asking it to go bang by pressing the trigger till it does go bang.

Thank You Marshall!!!!

concentrate on the other steps to firing the shot while steadily increasing pressure on the trigger, and let the firing of the gun surprise you.

Remember the six steps to firing the shot... sight alignment, sight picture, respiratory pause, focus your eye on the front sight while focusing your mind on keeping the front sight on target, trigger squeeeeeeze, and follow through (hold the trigger back and call your shot).

Concentrate on the previous 4 steps (especially focusing on that front sight) while you squeeeeeze the trigger. When the gun fires, hold the trigger to the rear for a moment (just long enough to think "follow through") while calling your shot -- taking a mental snapshot of where your sights were on the target at the moment the gun fired. Then start it all over again.

You can't ever skip a step. At first, you have to shoot slowly and deliberately concentrate on performing every step. But if you practice the right way for long enough, it starts to become muscle memory and you can speed it up while still following every step.

Remember, even when performing rapid fire, your trigger squeeze is always done with steadily increasing pressure, not a jerk. You will get to where you can steadily increase the pressure pretty quickly, though! Remember that your finger never leaves the trigger. After firing a shot, only release the trigger far enough forward to reset it, and no more.
