Should we get mad when a new church is built?

I do.

What about a new gym?

Nah, gyms are pretty unobtrusive comparatively. Usually only a few cars at any of the gyms around here. You gotta remember, this is Oklahoma, people will swarm a casino, Wal-mart or MegaChurch, but they ain't going to no gym.

A new restaurant?

A lousy chain with overpriced school cafeteria food? Yeah, fawk those places.

Coffee shop?

Well it would probably be a Starbucks, and it would probably be being built within sight of *another Starbucks*, so yeah.

Should we move all Wal Marts or malls out to the middle of no where?

Nah, we should just stop building more.

Yep, I hate all these things. I live 6 miles outside a Tulsa burb that used to be a small town when I was a kid. Now we have mega stores, yuppie strip malls, nasty chain restaurants I would not eat at if your paid me, (one of them that went bankrupt and is sitting abandoned and surrounded by weeds 2 years after it was built) and generally a whole mess of traffic made up of soccer moms lost in their cell phones that really have no business being on the road and blocking the egress of real people doing real things. I'm seriously considering moving to Tulsa city proper due solely to the traffic.

There, is that response negative and hateful enough for you? :D

What it boils down to is the additonal costs it adds to the citizens who do not want them built. Higher taxes, higher insurance, higher costs in living expenses, property values decreasing. I work damn hard for my money, and having the casinos built in area that I have lived for 48 years is as close to being violated as it comes.

Well that's an unbiased source if I've ever seen one. Most of the points are reaching at best, however since embezzlement is the problem stated the most....

If casinos cause embezzlement, guns cause murder...... is this correct??

I'm gonna ask this again, what has happened locally in Tulsa casinos relative to let's say..... Wal-mart parking lots. When's the last time a meth head walked into a casino and started making meth? How many people have been shot in the Riverspirit casino parking lot? Just curious.

I went to to the Hard Rock in Catoosa for a birthday party once and I walked all around trying to find the pretty girls playing slot machines they have on the billboards, but they must have a hidden room they play in or something because all the women I saw looked like Hans Moleman with tits.

Where do the taxes come from? Higher insurance and living expenses?

They come from my bank account. Crime costs the citizens money. County and city taxes to house and feed the scum that invade what used to be a sleepy little community. Higher home and auto insurance costs because of the break ins for theft. Higher living expenses because the local chain stores see the outside money coming into the community as a chance to rob not only the locals but the people who looking for a good time. I find it odd you didn't ask about lower property values. I guess you already knew that though. Do you think the company I work for gives me a COLA because muliple casinos located to my area. HELL NO they don't.

By all means, PROVE your property values statement. Start with Las Vegas, Nevada....... then give me some numbers for Oklahoma, this should be easy for the number of casinos around here. Then give me some numbers of break-ins, insurance rates, and especially any evidence of tax hikes, etc. By all of these anecdotes and opinions, it should be complete chaos in Catoosa and off Riverside.

You people sound like liberals arguing against a gun shop being put in.

You're an idiot if you think I am going to post my financial information.
