This won't help you but Uniquetek markets a tool head clamp kit for Dillon presses and a few RCBS progressives. Its supposed to hold the tool head more securely and help reduce COL variation.

I checked it, their kit addresses tool head issues. My progressive doesn't use a tool head, the dies screw in to the frame. The shell plate is on the ram, the only other area that can cause a variation through flexing.
Perhaps I need to get a new one.

Call Hornady. They are very customer friendly.

You are right, their support is excellent, some time ago, I asked them to sell me a spring that broke, instead they insisted in sending two springs free of charge.
I just emailed their tech support asking if they are familiar with my problem.
Another company that treated me beyond expectation is S&W, I had a problem with a revolver that I thought was warranty, they emailed me a free shipping label, they fixed the gun, send it back all free.
