The costs of medication is increasing periodically and the big drug companies seek cheap labor to increase their profits. However, they are not going to reduce the cost of medication, they are going o keep their profit margin up and continue to take advantage of grandma and grandpa who are already struggling making ends meet. We can purchase nearly anything from China and it will be cheaper than a like article manufactured in Japan etc. but the drug companies are going to charge us more regardless of their cheap profiteering.

A huge part of increasing cost is the government regulations, required testing, and legal fees. Plus it is cheaper to make overseas not only because of cheap labor but also far fewer regulations. When a company needs to get a waiver from rules for one government agency, to comply with rules from another government agency it makes sense to do it in another country.

. Yes and they are raking in huge profits due to cheap labor and still keep the prices up as if they were produced in the USA. New drugs are patented for seven years and after the severn pass, other companies can develop generic products/drugs at a more reasonable cost. Not saying companies shouldn't make a profit but they are ripping us off in several ways. American workers are out of. job, prices of medications remain high and no new pharmaceutical factories are being built here-avian workers not working here.

Yes and no. Some of our high drug prices are from profits, a lot is because our government makes it to costly to manufacture here (Trump is trying to change that) and some is because we pay more to even out what socialized medicine in other countries refuses to pay. Plus they get a patent for 7 years but it averages 10 years from the time a drug is discovered until it can be sold. Average cost to develop a new drug is $2.6 billion.

In other words, we need to overhaul the whole system with fair, streamlined regulations, making other countries pay the same prices or do without, and tort reform so that if someone gets a hangnail they can not get hundreds of millions from the drug company.

Whoever tried to liken me to an AOC crowd, lol.

I liked Trump just fine, i just dont blindly trust him when his actions on this immediate threat have been lackluster. You will see the damage that comes from his mishandling of the situation over the next few months.

. Meanwhile, Canada pays less for the same drugs that we pay for because of insane laws.

I found this elsewhere on another forum:

"As of March 11, 2020 there are 118,381 cases of Coronavirus Worldwide. An estimated 80,955 cases in China alone & new cases are steadily "DECLINING".
Italy has 10,149 cases
Iran has 8,042 cases
South Korea has 7,755 cases
United States has 1217 cases; 30 American deaths; Most were from a single nursing home in Washington State; Average age of those who passed, 80 yrs old.

4,292 worldwide deaths (estimated 7.8 Billion People in the world as of 2020) Sadly most deaths are of our elderly population ?￰゚リᄁ

CDC estimates on March 9, 2020 that there are roughly 34 million with flu, 350,000 hospitalized with the flu and 20,000 deaths from the flu at this time. Per CDC the Flu is having much more impact than coronavirus at this time.

TIMELINE:

Dec 30th 2019 China “mentions” they have a virus that shows symptoms of pneumonia;

Jan 7th – China gives the virus a name, (SARS- CoV-2)

Jan 31st – Trump declares “Public Health Emergency” and takes action & immediately demands mandatory quarantine; DEMS fight back saying he is over-reacting;

Feb 1st - Biden slams Trump and states, “This is no time for Fear Mongering”

Feb 2nd – Trump Orders “Travel ban” on Non-US Citizens who visited China are barred from entering the US; again DEMS say he is over-reacting and start fighting back.

Feb 27th – Task force for virus is formed; President Trump met with CDC and Medical Officials.

Feb 29th – New Travel Restrictions expanded to include Iran, Italy, South Korea. FDA updated policy to expand virus testing; Dems begin planning a vote to go against Trumps travel bans. ALSO, on this day President Trump asked the DEMS to stop politicizing this Virus & DEMS claim he called the virus a "hoax" which he DID NOT.

March 2nd – Trump & Pence meet with Drug Companies to help contain CV, they discuss treatment & vaccinations

March 3rd – Trump & Pence order CDC to lift any and all restrictions on CV testing, allowing anyone to be tested for CV

March 6th – Trump signs 8.3 billion dollar Bill to combat CV

March 9th – DEMS in the House Vote to dismantle Trump’s Travel bans (look it up for yourself) while DEM California Gov. Gavin Newsom praises Trump for acting responsibly!

March 10th – President Trump met with the Insurance industry to get them to waive any and all Co-Pays for Americans related to CV diagnosis and treatment;

March 11th – President Trump meets with Banking Executives to assist with the economic impact on America due to CV. Discussed economic relief for businesses such as Tax Cuts for employers, possibly extending the filing for taxes, etc. Trump expands Travel ban to include Europe (excluding UK) & Japan.

March 11th - Jerry Nadler: Restricting Foreign Nationals for Coronavirus Will Not Help Public Health. YES HE SAID THAT. World Health Organization declares coronavirus a pandemic as spread continues.

Solution is NOT Toilet Paper! It is common sense hygiene! Wash Hands, cover mouth when coughing or sneezing; If you are in public areas, drink a couple sips of water every 15 minutes to flush any potential virus down into your stomach where the acid of the stomach will kill the virus. Sunshine also helps kill viruses along with extra Vitamin C & D.

IF YOU HAVE A COMPROMISED IMMUNE SYSTEM STAY OUT OF THE PUBLIC. If you MUST go into Public, take precautions, wipe down buggies or carts; use a face mask, stay at least 5 ft from others you do not know."
