Here someone hits the nail on the head. ^^^^A huge part of increasing cost is the government regulations, required testing, and legal fees. Plus it is cheaper to make overseas not only because of cheap labor but also far fewer regulations. When a company needs to get a waiver from rules for one government agency, to comply with rules from another government agency it makes sense to do it in another country.
Malpractice suits and government regulations that drive the pharm companies to take immense times to prove a product with years of testing because of government regulations has driven the pharmaceuticals to move overseas.
If I heard it right, Trump ordered the parm companies to streamline and produce the vaccine.
Now for another rant. Why in the hell do we need the damned government to tell us how to run our health care?
The government does not do research, they do not produce one iota of medicine for the American Public.
Yes we need good medicine, but the length the parm companies are required to prove it for release into the US is insane.
Europe, and Asian countries have the same drugs from the same companies for 2/3 less time/price than the US.
If I heard it right, there is a chance the pharm's may get the ability to fast forward some of these tests.
