I was referring to the enormous difficulty in passing what should have been a no-brainer in this state. It shows what a heavy lift it is elsewhere.

As of now, if you are pulled over, arrested or detained you are required to notify the officer you are licensed and carrying, either verbally or by presenting your permit. Under the new law, you will not be required to disclose that you are carrying UNLESS he/she asks.

Which I fully expect to be standard practice. I agree that it's a good idea to tell them up front, but you will not be legally required to do so. Unless they ask.

IE, from the officer's perspective, is it better that someone be required to volunteer that they are carrying, is it better to wait until asked, or is there really no practical difference between the two? And if there could be some elaboration as to why one is better.

Personally I am going something BEFORE, rather than later. I would rather a police officer know than find out later at my expense.
