My family owns some land over on the Hughes/Seminole county line (I forget if it's in Hughes or Seminole county), and my dad said that a lot of that land is hard to buy because it is/was Indian land, and the titles are a mess. I gather that my grandfather (who bought the land back in the '50s) wanted to buy more, but his place was one of the few in the immediate vicinity that didn't have a problems with its title. I don't know if that's peculiar to the western part of the county, but it's something of which you should be aware.

You might PM Glock'emDown, as that's his neck of the woods, and he might know someone you can contact.

We have a county map on the wall at fire station that shows land owners in our run area, use it to make contact if there was a fire or fence cut. You may check at local station if you know anyone there and they have one.
