Nice looking knife. I recently came across one similar and shape. Called a Nesmuk and really like working it.
I like that style/shape of blade, I like to put my fingers up on the top edge of the blade and hold it between my fingers and thumb and can go to town on skinning and make a whole lot less mistakes on cutting through the hide than when my hand is out on a handle.
Growing up, I skinned out all our calves that got hurt during roping's and such, and rendered the beefs we ate each year, and that was how I as taught to hold a drop point knife and use it.
