so if there's no gain in accuracy... what's the motivation to do this mod? increased mass?
besides the cool factor....

Increased mass that changes the recoil impulse. There are no accuracy or reliability gains on a gun of Wilson's quality. Here is one of my older cone-barreled guns Olyeller refinished for me before I sold it. These types of heavier barrels DO shoot quite nicely.

I think every person will have their own opinion on how a gun performs and feels. For me, the extra weight at the end of the barrel improves the time for accurate subsequent shots. I wanted a high performance firearm that I could carry without losing accuracy because of the compact frame. Weight was not an issue for me. Like a lot of people, once I owned the gun, I wanted to customize it to my personal taste (eye candy).
