Besides the takedown lever, is the last two digits of the serial number marked anywhere else on the pistol? If not you may have an erzatz Luger, meaning a parts gun, which will detract from the value of the gun.

Are there any markings in front of the DWM scroll? Chances are who ever liberated the gun is the one who carved their initials in it, poor attempt at what is known as "trench art".

Nope no markings in front of the DWM scroll..

It's chambered in 30 luger which kinda sucks since it's relatively hard to find these days, and when you do find it it's expensive. Looks like I can shoot it based on what the guys at lugerforum.com said...

They also said it was likely from late 1925 or very early 1926 based on the cursive o under the serial number.. Those guys have identification of lugers down to a science... all kinds of databases and stuff... really interesting piece of history though.
