1 Saving Private Ryan...Not much more to say than "damn" that movie is harsh on so many levels. I had two grandfathers who fought in WWII. they both "tried" to watch Private Ryan but couldnt...It was "too" real for them. I now know why they are known as the greatest generation. They did that without question. I question whether or not I could have.
2. Platoon... I was a young impressionable youth when this movie came out. The saying "war is hell." Has never been more exemplified than the last nighttime combat scene in this movie. I still have nightmares about that.
3. Red Dawn...Not just a movie but a training manual.
