Took the AR out to the range today for the first time today. I wasnt able to pick up a front sight tool so I couldn't get the rifle zeroed. I was however lucky enough that the front sight was set just about perfect for a 6 o clock hold, atleast that way I could still shoot.
All I have to say is wow, this is the most amazing rifle I have ever shot. The midlength gas system and that A5 feel great together. I can't imagine how it will feel once I put a battlecomp on.
I had originally planned to start out with something like xm193 but was unable to find any locally. Due to that I decided to shoot all the "low powered" rounds that I have heard can be problematic. I shot PMC bronze, Remington UMC, Wolf, and some Winchester 556 that was around the same price range. Everything functioned perfectly without a hick-up.
Here's a few pics
