We used to make a cruder version of these when I was a kid. Some length of pipe. Drill a hole in the end cap for the fuse. Fashion a little wooden stand or braze a couple legs on it.
They would shoot a marble hard enough to dent old metal lawn chairs.

Way back in time when people weren't such wimps,,,
My father found some steel tubing that he made rifles out of.
The tubing was just perfect for a glass marble,,,
Patched with some toilet tissue paper.
He drilled a fuse hole in the side of the threaded breech end,,,
And made a match lock action out of plywood.
Unscrew the cap, insert a Black cat fiery-cracker,,,
Stuff a patched marble down the muzzle,,,
Put a lit cigarette into the "hammer".
When you pulled the trigger-hammer cigarette holder,,,
It lit the fuse coming out the side of the gun.
Then you had to hold on target for a second or two,,,
But when it went off that marble came out with some authority.
Getting smacked in the butt with one,,,
Even at 20-25 yards distance,,,
Hurt like the dickens.
He would probably have gone to jail now.
