I got a question maybe someone can answer. The gas at the Oncue and 7/11 are 4.23 and 4.25. The 7/11 and Oncue at May and Hefner are 4.43 a gal., how does 5 miles difference account for the higher gas prices? Just wondering.
As with all things, market rate is always determined by "what are people willing to pay for it".
Same as how we're paying a crap ton more for gas in general while the oil companies are raking in record profits.

I've sometimes seen that much of a difference within 50 ft of each other......
I'd guess that those stations are selling gas at different rates or are on different delivery schedules, so they're hitting the new fuel pricing at different times. They may also be in a different zone of competition, so they have different external price pressures.
Back in the day, Texaco stations used to be about $0.10/gallon higher than the competing stations at the same intersection. As a percentage, that's a bigger difference than $0.20/gal today.
Gas your boat up at a marina. Friends of our son's were at Beaver Lake in Arkansas over the 4th. The marina they gassed up at sells only 91 octane pure gas. Eleven dollars a gallon. Yep. Sixteen gallons = $176. They thought there was a mistake, so called them on it. Nope. No mistake.

Sam’s is closer to a reasonable profit based on RBOB while the others are gouging customers to maximize profits. Costco charges 12% over costs. That was from the DINO Tulsa market director.
August unleaded futures are at 3.40. Ok federal and state gasoline tax is .384 per gallon so costs less transportation is 3.784.

Go ahead and explain the meaning of profit margin........ It alludes a lot of well meaning folks. Had to explain it to my son several years ago.
