Glock 22 question

Hello, I've seen some used Glock 22, and they have gen 2 and gen 3. I was wondering if anyone had an opinion on which one to get? Price difference is only 45 dollars. Main use for this gun will be for any kind of pistol competitions I can get into locally in Ok. Which looks like some USPSA and IDPA and maybe a GSSF. So I'll be doing a little work to it anyways, barrel, trigger, fun stuff like that. I don't have any experience with the gen 2, I'm not sure what was changed. Also, I want to make sure aftermarket parts will fit whichever I get.
