That was a dang nice feeling firearm too! Forrest Gump would say, "I bet you could shoot a gun like that all day and not feel a thinnnng"

My Ruger Commander-size 1911 in 9 mm is a hoot to shoot. I don't think I'd carry it but it's loads of fun.

I will say I do miss my Ruger SR1911 lightweight commander in 9. Just a sweet shooting pistol.

I currently own and love my Springfield Armory Range Officer Target in 9mm. I bought this when they had the "gear up" special going and ended up with a cheap paddle holster (nice for slipping on and off at the range) and 4 extra magazines for a total of 6 (extra items are free). I was out the door at about 925 and don't regret it. My only complaint currently is that the 9 round magazines don't reliably feed the first round, they like to go straight into the feed ramps. Loading at 8 rounds produces no issues whatsoever, and she sings all day long. Currently, this is my favorite pistol, period, and I don't use anything that didn't come in the box when I bought it.
They are running the same gear-up special I believe through October, I recommend checking them out.

Picked up a Ruger SR1911 LW Commander 9mm in March this year.
About 500 rounds of factory ammunition all kinds.
    1000 147 moly coated reloads.
Pistol reliability with all ammo has been good.
Wilson ETM mags contact the ejector upon seating so they’re a no go.
Tripp Cobra mags work ok if you want a 10rd mag.
I really kinda like the Ruger 9rd mag the best overall.
    Accuracy is ok.
Pistol is very reliable and fun to shoot, with light recoil.
When the mags are fully loaded they are difficult to seat.
I think Ruger SR1911’s are a great value, the very best
    available in their price range.
