What you have is a liberal enclave DA who's been given the power to investigate and indict statewide, who has a reputation for going after Republicans but not Democrats. She's caught acting an a manner that's entirely inconsistent with commanding a sizable "public integrity" unit. Rather than accepting responsibility and resigning, she's refusing.

Now Rick Perry is supposed to approve a large budget for her to continue her documented behavior? Why would he do that? Why would he give her money to continue her sham of a job after she's been convicted of an impeachable offense? Further, after doing the right thing and defunding this woman, liberal Travis Co. comes to her aide and indicts him for doing his job? Yep, there's an opportunistic action here, but it's not Perry's! So I would ultimately ask, what is the season and bag limit on Republican officials in Travis Co.?

FWIW, I can't stand Perry and I desperately pray he doesn't run for POTUS again. This however is beyond the pale.

Gov Perry played Politics just like Chis Christie did and Obama and the Dems pounced. Thats 2 potential GOP candidates down. Rubio and Paul can thank Obama later. Who cares about Christie or Perry? Theyre both goofs anyway and couldnt beat Hillary.

Rubio and Paul are the only hope the GOP has anyway.

Do a check, the majority of Republicans do resign when they get caught doing something wrong while most Dems tend to stay in office and are even re-elected. The GOP puts a lot of pressure on them to resign and if they do not, the GOP will not usually support them for re-election. They are not perfect but for the most part do not have the "I am above the law" mentality of the Dems.

You do the check and back it up, otherwise it's pure speculation based on opinion. I will not speculate and have no opinion of which party is the worse as it only detracts from bigger issues which are proven by facts and not just opinion or speculation.

And while I agree in principle that criminals should not be in Gov. positions of any sort the issue at hand is using the veto of an agencies funding as coercion against an individual to possibly control it's direction of investigations. One does have to wonder why Perry would go after a low rate crime like DUI and not fight to uncover the issues in the cancer scandal which cost Texas taxpayers millions and (coincidentally?) the DA in question was trying to do.

If I were to offer an opinion(backed by facts not mere speculation) it would be that far too often the concept of above the law and the law itself is used as a tool and made a mockery of by different gangs/cliques fighting for control and the spoils of the same turf, (America) and some individuals trying to enrich themselves at the expense of others and the country itself.

As to the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) was it about science and fighting cancer or was it about rewarding campaign contributions with grants of taxpayer funds to certain businesses to give them an edge in the "free market"? Why did many of the scientist jump ship and one of it's officials get indicted? Who decided which entities got the grants, scientist or politicos?

7 advisers resign at embattled Texas cancer agency

"At least seven scientists resigned in protest this week from Texas' embattled $3 billion cancer-fighting program, claiming the agency created with the backing of the governor and cancer survivor Lance Armstrong is charting a new "politically-driven" path that puts commercial interests before science."

On the way to becoming a world-class funding resource, Texas's 3-year-old, $3 billion cancer research agency has run into management troubles. Last week, Alfred Gilman, the Nobel Prize–winning biochemist who serves as the chief scientific officer of the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas announced he is stepping down this fall because he believes CPRIT's leaders are making research funding decisions that bypass scientific review.

For those of you that can think for themselves, this is called Lawfare. It is the Dems way of trying to damage a candidate. They did it with Tom Delay, Sarah Palin, Scott Walker, Chris Christie just to name a few. Most of whom have been cleared. Perry will be too.

As far as Dems not resigning, just a couple easy ones.
