This morning on my way to work I see these trucks with Government tags together. I have seen these kinds of trucks before usually traveling in a convoy. This group was headed west on I-40. The others I have seen have been headed east on 240. They don't have any markings on truck or tractor. There is a follow truck, 3 semi-trucks, and then a truck up front about a mile. I guess these guys are hauling hazardous waste of some kind? Anybody else see these convoys before or know what they are hauling?

Fissionable stuff. The semis are just there to keep the two smaller trucks apart 'coz if they get too close - KABLOOIE!

(reality check - I haven't an effing clue, but given some of the other posts I've been reading here lately thot that'd just kinda fit right in).

Kinda sorta right -- they're the transports that run between Pantex (near Amarillo) and Oak Ridge National Laboratory in TN. The semis carry the "special weapons" materials while the escorts handle security and comms. All the vehicles are well-armored and well-armed to boot. The actual materials are not proximity sensitive, though. Try passing one of the semis and look back at the cab -- let's just say it's interesting.

Back in the 80s and 90s, these ran through OKC on a fairly regular basis, especially after the START treaty eliminated tactical nukes. The ones in EU were all run back through PANTEX to recover the fissile and booster materials. Current traffic volume on these movements is much less than during that time.

Actually, they are carrying AMMO. The gubment has been buying up ammo since Jan. The trucks are transporting it to the tower at the new Utah facility for secure storage to wait until the uprising and it is needed to squash the revolution. Resistance is futile. Submit now and live.
