This article reminded me of claims I once heard that gun deaths in America aren’t necessarily gun violence…

They include citizens protecting themselves as well as Leo’s shootings (good shoots)

There was one "study" in the not-too-distant past that included anyone up to 25 years old in the "children" category.

Not automatically though. For both of our daughters we had to actually request to keep them past 21 and document it all in DEERs. Had to provide proof they were both still in college.

Hmm; Gun violence. Is that anything like pitchfork violence? Torch violence? Mob violence? Tomato violence? Bat violence? Knife violence?

I see a trend here. Violence. I'd say our best defense against violence is to deal with the perpetrators instead of the implements. Some of those implements are the best defense against violence. Never leave home without an implement of defense.

Did you hear about the statistician who drowned in a river that had an average depth of 2 inches? As long as we keep track their will always be those that will manipulate the numbers and interject emotion. Want to add some meaning to the numbers? Track what drugs the people were on, the perpetrators and suicides. However the CDC nor any government agency will track that in order to appease the pharma corporate oligarchical overlords at pfizer and the other drug companies. Also track the race, socio economic status and overall crime rate where the shootings occur. Dems would prefer the type of gun used instead of those numbers.

The US population has been trained to be subjective rather than objective. Stats are objective, so only objective people look at them, subjective folks don't, let alone use them during debate. There aren't many objective folks left. The perils of teaching young folks that there is more than one truth.....

How many lives do guns save a year? Nobody keeps any stats on that. Not the FBI or the Justice Department. Some say it’s too hard to track because so many cases of successful self defense go unreported. Guesstimates years ago believed the number was anywhere between 1.5 - 3 million lives were saved by gun owners per year. Last year there were 647 people killed in mass shootings. Each one being reported every 5 minutes on local and National news, including naming the suspect and their life story for all to see. This all in a country with over 330 million people. While 647 people dying in mass shootings is unacceptable there are so many things that haven’t been done to secure schools and malls from continuing to be targets. That’s what politicians should be talking about. Also, while these bleeding heart liberals continue to talk about gun violence killing children everyday, I have yet to hear a running total on local and national news about how many children died from abortions every day. Guess babies don’t count. Only 930,000 babies died from abortions last year. Hmmm. Where are the morals of these people? I do not and will never feel guilty for owning guns, with so many people who have no sense of right and wrong walking this earth.
