Normally I'm a live and let live kind of guy, but when I stepped out on the front porch this morning...this dude reared up at me. Not cool man, not cool.

Round eyes, streamlined, non flared head: Most likely non poisonous.
Other than that, I’m not much help on ID.

I'll add that rat snakes are VERY snippy. They will snap at you to scare you off, but other than sink a tooth in they really can't do much to hurt you.
Yup, Ratsnake and there’s a reason he was around……his food was there.
I played with snakes all the time and they are all pretty aggressive at first except for the Northern scarlet snake or milk snake those were always nice to play with.
Even a cotton mouth will calm down after it finds out you are not a threat to it.
But there was this one green grass snake that would not calm down at all.
He just wanted to bite all the time.
Must have been hungry.
