How long to store powder for reloading?

I think one mentioned NO dessicant packs with the powder. Kind of curious why that is not a good idea.
If you keep the powder in the original container and put those containers inside a larger second container, like a cooler, you can put dessicant in the cooler. Never mix any foreign chemicals in with the gunpowder unless you are enough of a chemist to be sure what you are doing will not destabilize the powder.
As I said before, there is a wealth of information on gunpowder storage available from SAAMI.

I'm not a chemist, but I believe the powder while appearing dry does have some natural moisture content. And putting dessicants into it would remove that moisture leading to accelerated deterioration.
