Half of the cabaleas or bass pro catalog...:rotflmao:

1shott hunts in a loincloth regardless of weather and carries only 2 pieces of hardtack and a tin cup for gettin water from the crik, all wrapped up in a kerchief.:wink2:

The only other day pack I've used was an old army surplus pouch I slung over my shoulder like a man purse. It was uncomfortable as hell, and didn't have room for my clothes or my bow/gun. I held a bottle of water a snack and my hat, thats it. Used it for years, till I got smart.

I didn't know packing in my clothes to prevent sweating and freeing my hands to drag out dead deer made me a sissy. Anyways, I'm getting my gear ready for my 20th sit of the season in the morning, me and half the Cabela's catalog are going after it hard this weekend.:thumb:

Pfffft loincloths are for pansies, hunt naked or dont hunt at all....:clap3:

I have a medium sized bag with a extra shirt, sweatshirt, dry gloves, 2 knives, wet stone, a length of rope, flashlight, ass wipe, thats right ass wipe, learned that lesson years ago, a couple bottles of water. Thats about it.

I dont feel a need to pack a weeks worth of **** into a gear bag for a day of hunting.

The main benefits I have found to using a larger backpack are:

1. I can pack my outer layer of clothes, hats etc. in so I don't sweat like a whore in church by the time I make the hike to my stands. I used to have to wear my outer layer or tie it around my waist like a yuppie does a sweater.

2. When I get a deer, I can put my bow or gun in the carrier and have my hands free to drag the deer out.

3. It is much more comfortable than the little old Army surplus pack I used to use.

Really, I wish I had started using a large backpack style daypack years ago. So there 264 and JWE, take that to the bank and cash it.:tounge:
1. I'm a fast moving hunter. I don't use stands. If I get cold, I walk faster. When I get hot, I sit for a minute. I generally go as light as I can get away with.

2. I carry a PVC handle with some rope. Makes it pretty darn easy to drag a deer out by yourself with one hand, and your other hand holding the bow or gun.

3. Agreed. My pack, when I do carry one, is a Badlands Diablo.

So put that in your pipe and smoke it.
