The agreement with local police agencies is meant to ensure that they “do not disclose that information to ICE, Customs & Border Protection and Citizenship and Immigration Services as stipulated in law,” said Janine Kava, a spokeswoman for DCJS.

The federal government should shut off access to NCIC for New York. It is a two way street after all...
If it weren't for jeopardizing officer's lives I would agree.
That's part of the point. Those NY agencies would be screaming at Cuomo to get it reinstated.
It's unfortunate, but at some point we have to give LE AGENCIES a reason to back The People, not the tyrants.
Thought that the whole "Real ID" thing was supposed to prevent this sort of thing (illegals getting a state issued license) from happening in the first place. Should have known better.
I theory sure, but in practice? States can still issue any ID they want, it just isn’t valid for entering federal installations or flying commercial.
So the next step after decertification of NY for NICS access, would be to revoke their ID clearance for federal purposes. After that, defund N.Y. and NYC security and law enforcement in the federal budget.
New York has been beating up the federal government ever since Trump took office. It’s past time for Trump to hit back.
