You can buy a whole passel of reloading stuff for what a new quality AR will cost. I'd buy a LEE single stage press kit and some components, then you can feed that M1A for less than you can buy ammo for the AR. You could also feed your wife's AR cheaply too. Just a thought.

But keep that M1A!

I have regreted just about every day for selling the M1A NM that I bought earlier this year. Yeah it was expensive to feed. But there is something about squeezing that trigger and sending .30 cal goodness down range.

The ONLY reason for not keeping the M1A would be to sell it to buy a different model M1A.

As a member of the armed forces once said...
"With an M16, you have to wait for the enemy to stick his head out from behind a (brick) wall before you can shoot him, with an M60 you simply shoot the wall down around him". That says a lot about the 5.56 vs the 7.62.
