(f*wk Texas, the land of bought deer and no public hunting)
I don't know why folks think Texas doesn't have public hunting land?!? I live in east Texas, and there is almost 170,000 acres with in 150 miles of my house. There are some monster buck killed on public land every year too.
Because they hear it at the coffee shop. I bird hunted public land down there once. And also their wildlife dept even rents private land to open up public hunting access on it.
Isn't Ok 95% private owned. Don't remember the exact number, but that's close. We have less public ground than almost all states?
"Glaringly" is a bit of a stretch, but whatever. 1% of the second largest state is open to public hunting. The rest of the expansive western states have 30-60%.I actually agree with RidgeHunter on his idea of moving rifle season away from the rut, and I also agree the Texas comment was irrelevant to this thread. However, this is an internet chat board, and when you make glaringly false or inaccurate statements, you will most likely be called out on it.
