I watch a treasure hunting show once where the people actually found some hidden gold. One of the alphabet agencies came in and took control of the area. The finders were supposed to get a percentage of the loot. During the night black suvs were in and out of the area and the next day when the finders were allowed back in, there wasn't much gold for them to get a percentage of. Understand the difference between “civil war“ and “civil war era” if it’s a shipwreck as most coins were 1857 and 1858.

The cheapest civil war $20 is the 1861 an nice XF45 is around $3000 plus. These can be hard to find in XF and Lower AU as no one sells and when they do if priced right sell quickly.
