Every mass produced electronic lock has this flaw. Doesn't even matter if it's a gun safe or a gate lock.

All "portable" gun safes pretty much suck. Good for keeping kids out. That's about it. It's unfortunate that the Fortress was so bad that it failed at that task and a child had to die because of it.
