I would like to see a youtube video demonstrating how many rounds of 5.56 ammunition it would take to cut through even one railroad rail.

Unless it's armor piercing I'm not certain it would have much effect at all but I'd be happy to watch a demonstration video.

Personally I think a giant prybar and a sledge hammer would have more effect.

My theory is that he saw a couple of episodes of Sons of Guns and now thinks everything blows up when you shoot it.

Hell, we shot full gasoline cans and propane tanks with tracer rounds and even a few rounds of .50BMG.

We ended up with an expensive range day and a lot of trash to haul off but no explosions. Should have just bought some tannerite instead.
