When do you all prefer to be in the stand? I've heard people say hunting the evening is better early in the year, is this true? What about late season hunting? Is morning or evening better, or is there a difference?

Honestly it changes from week to week IMO. The only way to know is to get out there and hunt. Some of the best activity I've seen outside of the rut though is all day on cold days late in the season. If it snows, it makes it that much better.

I hate gutting, dragging, and checking in a deer in the evening.
if there is anyway possible, I'll do it in the morning.
If not, evening is ok.

really Dennis, we have seen pics of your front yard.
-alarm goes off
-get outta bed
-scratch ur ass
-pick up gun
-draw the blinds open
-open window
-whistle
-shoot
-lay back down
-tell the wife you heard someone running threw yard.

and you say you can't retrieve your deer by dark :screwy:

i think watching them while bow hunting helps get me my time for the late rifle season. i know when/where they move in the morning and i know when/where they move in the afternoon. you just gotta get out there and spot'em, unless your Dennis then you look out the front door :)

OH COME-ON!!
These yard deer are like pets to my wife. If the thought even entered my head about shooting one, I'd be the second to die, and she wouldn't have a problem field dressing me:yikes2::ooh2::eek2:

BTW, be out in the morning on the DMAP. 17 degrees, and I have to ride the ATC 2 1/2 miles to get there. New area.
