I carry a S&W 649 (bodyguard) in my front pocket. I choose a revolver for the reason listed above. The .38 Special is more comforting then a .380 and I like the general idea of a revolver better then a semi auto because I that gun is not gonna fail bad enough that I have to try to clear a jam with it. For SD I want something that will work every time not most of it.
BTW if your to worried about the gun printing or showing out the top of your pocket wear a longer shirt with it. Works for me.
