M4 barrel extension replacement?

I keep bugging Olyeller with these questions, thought I better try on here

Anyways...I'm wanting to replace an A2 upper with an flat top style...like the total dumbass newb that I am , I went ahead and bought one without knowing about the feed ramp difference...well, needless to say, mine has the standard cuts...the new upper has M4 cuts....so my question is.....can I replace the barrel extension without replacing the barrel??

What brand upper did you buy? Maybe just sell it and buy one with feed ramps?

yeah, that is my other option....its a YHM with the M4 feed ramps, I need one without them.

Yeah, it'd be better to just buy an upper without the cuts.

Well, i've got an update...the guy I bought the upper from is gonna give me a refund...whew...now I can order the correct one...lol I've learned my lesson....do the research before commiting to buy!

You should mention about the great info you got from a guy at H&H saying the m4 receiver will work fine.
